My favorite tattoo and the story behind it
I love the dancing fairies along my side. Fae are characterized as mythical beings or legendary creatures and are the form of spirit. The idea for this came to me one day when someone described me [at 5'1"] as a "pixie" and I've always been partial to Tinker Bell after dancing the role in a theater production of Peter Pan. However, I wanted something more alluring and sexual than Tink and brought my vision to Dub Weir at Divinity Tattoo in Phoenix. After some discussion and sketches, Dub did his thing. The artist was truly able to capture both my passion for dance and sprite, child-like nature bringing to life their magical essence. I find the colors compelling and I just love this piece of art on my body.
My first tattoo and the story behind it
My best girlfriend got me my first tattoo as a birthday gift. I had always wanted one and chose to go with a rendering of the sun for two reasons. First, I am a Leo and was born under the sign of the sun. Second, I've always been drawn to the sun, after all, I moved to Phoenix from the east coast just to have more of it.
My next tattoo
I can't wait for my next tattoo! We are starting it this spring. Dub will be creating a heart shape out of pointe ballet shoes just below my sternum with ribbons streaming out under my breasts. On the right side the ribbon will wrap around the dancing fairies. Eventually we will connect the sun with water to the flowers, thus having a whole piece.
