Myself, in a sentence
I don't describe myself based on certain categories or standards; however I love all music, I have a free spirit that challenges what society deems as normal, I'm a mother to an awesome boy, and I'm bold and outspoken in the best since of the words.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it
My favorite tattoo, although I have an amazing full sleeve that is in progress, will still have to be my first tattoo. It represents, for me, being a good mom and overcoming the obstacles I've faced in life.
My first tattoo and the story behind it
My first tattoo is of a little girl who is holding a balloon. The balloon has a skull and blood inside the balloon and the word, "grr." is on the little girl's dress. The phrase, "The weight of the cradle has broken the bough, you're a woman now," is in the middle of the piece. The tattoo is of a drawing by the artist and front-woman of my favorite band, Otep Shamaya. The song that she drew this piece for is about society's stone-aged definitions of what makes a female a woman; whether it's getting married or losing their virginity this could mean they were forced into marriage at 8 years old or raped, but the song finishes by saying that you become a woman when you take charge of your life and I really connect with that message.
My next tattoo
I have a very long list of future tattoos that I want, but I think that after my full sleeve is completed I want to get a Misfits tattoo on the back of my neck. I want to get a smaller tattoo before I start work on my next big piece, which will be a chest piece. I really want to get the scene from the Sistine Chapel of God giving knowledge to man.
