Myself, in a sentence
I'm a very low-key down to earth woman, who's literally been to hell and back. I survived a motorcycle accident 3 years ago that I shouldn't have lived through.
--Story in a nut shell: One day before returning to work after 6 weeks of maternity leave, [was AD USAF]-- A semi-truck ran a stop sign. Was too late to slam the breaks, so we [ex hubby & I] low-sided, sliding underneath the semi. He cleared-- I did not, which left me to get run over by the semi. Broken ribs, lacerated liver, skull fractures, brain injury....and the deepest of all-- stroke. .....I'm a "walking miracle" as they say.....with a "pimp limp" ;]
I ultimately ended up getting a medical retirement from the US Air Force... I was in for 3 years and 7 months. I am limited to wearing only flats now [nerve damage in my foot/ankle-- no more high heels for me-- though it's okay for me to stand in them, and sitting down of course]. Even though it can be discouraging at times, I try not to think about what use to be-- I've come to grips with the "new me"... I can still rock a flat pair of shoes [boots are my favorite] and be sexy as hell! It's not the materiel things that make a woman, it's her history. And that's real.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it
The piece on my chest which reads, [in Chinese], top to bottom-- "Strength, courage, passion & faith" Because I've defied ALL odds... I attain each and every one of those qualities. If you took the time to read "Myself, in a sentence", then you should be able to put two and two together. The tattoo explains itself :]
My first tattoo and the story behind it
Cross on my lower back. I was 21 and had just returned home from my tech school in the Air Force, in Biloxi, MS-- I had been wanting FOREVER to get a tattoo... I ALWAYS wear crosses, and if one day, I should be with out my cross necklace, I'll have the one on my back to protect me.
[Some of my current tats have been added to over the years-- so it may look as one piece, but technically their not]
My next tattoo
I for sure want to add to my half sleeve. But as far as a whole new piece, I'd like to get something associated with music. I love music-- It's everything to me... without it, I'd go nuts.
