Myself, in a sentence
Small town girl turned big city. Aspirations are still to be a jet pilot. Traveling and culture are my turn ons. Cooking is my expertise. I am very embracing of my impulses and spontaneity. I hope to go out of this world insanely accomplished with a resonating spirituality in tow.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it
The whole piece kind of came together when I was travelling Asia. The side came first and the extension on to my thigh came shortly after. The chinese states "Forget Your Nightmares, My Dreams Are Waiting For Me". The red stamp is my chinese middle name and consistent with asian paintings to "sign" it with a red stamp. The bamboo for luck and tranquility. The proverb as a reminder for when we find ourselves stuck lulling in the past rather than advancing forward into the things we always envisioned for ourselves. Human nature we are creatures of this! Koi's are symbols in Asian culture for perseverance and strength in adversity and strength of purpose. The story of koi is the koi must swim upstream battling strong currents to reach the top of the Yellow River to the Dragon's Gate so it can be turned into a dragon therefore being a symbol of overcoming obstacles-something I faced with a health challenge for years. It was my greatest battle in life and the koi and it's story is a perfect symbol for that. Buddhists monks also say that humans "swim" through the "ocean of fear" without suffering much like a fish swims in water- my constant reminder of my accomplishments and to never fear that "ocean" in life and take it on fiercely.
My first tattoo and the story behind it
My first is my favourite and my one and only. I went big. It was either that or nothing at all.
My next tattoo
A customized Chinese double Happiness character for when I marry my destiny [laughs]. And possibly a dragon to suit my koi once life has taken me to the top of that "river" and I've transformed into that dragon.
