Myself, in a sentence
A girl in an uncanny world living in a city with a mind of her own.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it
My favorite tattoo is the inscription, 'Madness is Wisdom,' located on my ribs under my left armpit. Many people don't understand it and say I should switch it around to, 'Wisdom is Madness.' Who is to say you can't, or cannot interpret it in your own way? No one. To me it symbolizes all these people in the world seen as misfits, misunderstood or different that are genius' to me. To me they are the wise ones...people who aren't afraid to be themselves or express themselves in ways society sees as 'socially unacceptable.' Those people are my idols. Follow your dreams and be who you are, because what kind of life are you living if you can't be yourself?
My first tattoo and the story behind it
My first tattoo is on the back of my neck and relates to JM Barries, Peter Pan. I chose to write the word, 'Neverland,' for my avid obsession with Peter Pan. I've always loved the story and the idea of Neverland almost as if it's my heaven...a magical place I can go to get away.
Of course it was that moment of just turning 18 and being in the moment. [Haha] I was with two friends late night searching for a tattoo shop still open and willing to tattoo 3 young tattoo virgins. As it was seeming unlikely, we finally came across a shop called, 'Outer Limits' in Costa Mesa. I drew out 'Neverland' on a napkin, they traced it, tattooed it on and we've been together ever since.
My next tattoo
My next tattoo will be another representation of Peter Pan, a quote. It will state, "To die would be an awfully big adventure." It's my favorite quote and always has been. I see life as an adventure and do not fear death, for it is all an adventure. I have plans for more tattoos, and to some heavily tattooed people I may not seem to have a lot. But they each have a meaning to me and tell my story and are apart of me. I see continuous ideas in my future and don't feel the need to get covered now. My body is my canvas and this is only the beginning of my adventure and my story.
